My personal opinion?
This is the most exciting white wine in the entire store right now.
We first tasted the Guillemain Pinot Gris back in February 2023 at one of the world's largest wine trade shows. It was an absolute showstopper - the price was beyond right, and the packaging was insane (I love wax on a bottle that costs less than $20!).
Sadly, the winery didn't have any to sell us. They don't make much, and it was sold out. (Why we got to taste it when there was none to sell is a different conversation for a different time...😂)
So we waited...and waited...and waited...and we were finally given the opportunity to buy this gem.
Guillemain is from one of the hottest new winemaking wizards in France, Antoine de la Farge - and I'm not even remotely kidding when I tell you this will be one of the best white wines you drink in 2026.
Why is this wine so good?
In the 7th century, King Dagobert I gifted his fields and vines to the monks of the Royal Abbey of Saint-Denis. That land became Reuilly - one of the oldest wine regions in France. Reuilly wines were served at the court of Catherine de' Medici, praised as "the best in the Berry country." And in 1937, Reuilly became one of the first appellations in France to receive AOC status.
But here's the thing: Reuilly is one of the only places in the Loire Valley where Pinot Gris has been traditionally grown for centuries. It's a rarity. While Sauvignon Blanc covers most of the appellation's 500 acres, just a sliver is planted to Pinot Gris - and the results are unlike anything you've tasted from Alsace or anywhere else.
Because the de la Farge vineyard sits on Kimmeridgian clay - the same ancient limestone that runs beneath Chablis and Sancerre - there is a nerve and minerality to this wine that makes it racy and refreshing. It's not the rich, sometimes slightly sweet Pinot Gris you know from Alsace. This is dry, crisp, and electric.
Some friends of mine have made a point recently that due to Sancerre prices, they are looking for something that is "like a Sancerre." You know - similar flavor profile and excitement that doesn't break the bank?
That's where this wine comes in.
We're doing burgers and baked beans tonight...and this!!!

There is one white wine that is so popular that in the 3 years we have been carrying it, we haven't even been able to send out a newsletter about it.
It keeps selling out right when it lands. So then we order more + some extra...same thing...and round and round we go.
So now we FINALLY have ordered what we think will at least cover us for a hot minute, and we're here to tell you about it.
It is the ultimate "if you know, you know" white wine right now.
Dominique Haverlan Château Grand Bourdieu Prestige Blanc
Dominique Haverlan is the son of a winemaker. He grew up in the Graves - Bordeaux's oldest wine region, where Romans planted vines almost 2,000 years ago. After years working alongside his father and studying oenology at the prestigious La Tour Blanche school, he set out on his own more than 30 years ago.
In 1988 he bought the ruined Vieux Château Gaubert - literally clearing the overgrown property with a chainsaw - and rebuilt it from nothing. Today he farms over 150 hectares across some of the finest terroirs in the Graves and Pessac-Léognan, including Château de La Brède, the historic estate of the philosopher Montesquieu.
The man is a builder - and his wines reflect it.
Château Grand Bourdieu sits on 16 hectares of superb gravelly soils - the signature terroir that gives Graves its name (from "grava," old French for gravel). These are the same soils that made the great white Bordeaux famous: stones deposited by the Garonne River over thousands of years, retaining heat by day and draining perfectly.
The Prestige Blanc is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon, partially fermented in barrel and aged on the lees for 6 months with regular stirring. The result is a white wine with the freshness and citrus lift of Sauvignon, the richness and texture of Sémillon, and the kind of complexity you'd expect from wines at 3-4x the price.
This is White Bordeaux the way it's supposed to taste - and at a price that makes no sense.
Will I be drinking a glass of this tonight? 100%
Let's do this!

Back in 2019, this wine changed a lot of things for me.
At that time, it was the single greatest value wine I had ever tasted. Heck, even today it's in my top 5. When we found out we could bring it to you for around $10 a bottle, we were shook. How does a wonderful, fully organic, delicious wine like this exist at this price?!
Ever since then we've been riding this wine on its rocket ship to the moon.
Préjugés is one of those wines that flies under the radar, but once you get it in your weekly rotation, it rarely leaves. The numbers are quite staggering - would you believe that you all have made NC the #1 market for this wine on planet earth? 'Tis true. Here at winestore., it outsells Sonoma Cutrer, Rombauer, Mer Soleil, and just about everything else. 😂
What makes Préjugés so awesome?
If you had told me that a French Chardonnay, from a little-known producer, from a little-known region (Cabardès), would become our top Chardonnay offering in 2019, 2020, 2021 - and run third place in 2022, 2023, 2024 AND 2025 only because we couldn't keep it in stock through all the supply chain disruptions - without question I would have thought you were crazy.
That is a staggering run of success.
California Chardonnay dominates the charts here at winestore., but Préjugés is something special, and took our sales by storm.
Cabardès hasn't always been a favored site for white wine, but its intense limestone soils are beginning to consistently offer Chardonnay of Burgundy-like nerve. This barrel-aged white has qualities that both California and French Chardonnay lovers are going to go "ga ga" over - and it drinks better than some California Chardonnays and white Burgundies at 4x the price. No joke.
$10.99 through Sunday!
Let's gooooooo!

Only 4 pallets came to the United States!
You know Domaine Priou. We've been selling their Sauvignon Blanc for the last two years as the closest thing to Sancerre quality at a fraction of the price.
Now meet their Pinot Noir.
François and Jean-François Priou mostly grow Sauvignon Blanc along the River Cher in the Loire Valley. But as the world warms up, certain places that didn't used to be able to ripen certain grapes are finding it easier to show off. The Loire is one of them.
While you might not think of the Loire Valley for Pinot Noir, it's routinely grown there - and if you haven't had a chance to drink any of the lighter, ethereal versions from this region, it's because the yields are small and the locals gobble up most of it.
This is textbook cool-climate Pinot: bright, fresh, lifted red fruits, silky texture, no heaviness. Think Burgundy's lighter side without Burgundy's price tag.
The label says it all: "Issu de raisins travaillés à l'ancienne sans désherbant chimique" - grapes farmed the old way, without chemical herbicides.
Inexpensive. High Quality. No funny business.
This is what we are all about!!
We'll keep it short and sweet today. I know what I'm drinking tonight!

It's that good - For Master's Week!
Can a $9.99 bottle taste like a $70 wine?
On sale for $9.99 and fitting my Master's vibe...
I'm sorry, but we absolutely CANNOT head into a spring weekend with weather across the Carolinas and Georgia being near perfect and not have Larme Rosé on sale for $9.99.
We just had to do it - it is too perfect not to...
So if weekend day drinking maybe a killer glass of rosé is in your lineup sometime this weekend, as it is for me, we have got you covered!
Why is the wine so special? (Aside from the fact that it has sold 8 bajillion bottles since its release in 2018...😂)
Well, if you stick around the wine business long enough, you’ll have seen it all. Where once wine coolers were cooler than Liebfraumilch, now hard seltzer is hot (served cold). White Zin was once de rigeur, though it was never French; it was from the good ol’ US of A. But then that became too sweet and the category died. Or seemed to. Because then rosé rose up like a zombie eager for fresh meat, though the current iteration of the pink stuff is more often French than not. Provence is the epicenter of it and the French have figured out how we like it: dry, pale pink, light and refreshing.
I know what I'm drinking...right when I get home...and all weekend long!!
TGIF!

It's that good - For Master's Week!
In three short years, Maison Belliac has become the 2nd most important Chardonnay we carry.
There is good reason for that...and that is the wine is probably one of the most outstanding Chardonnay values on the planet.
How do I know this? My wife is their core customer.
I've told you this before, but it I feel like it needs to be said again. So here we go...
My wife's favorite Chardonnay is Kistler. (I mean, I love Kistler too...)
But Kistler is like $70 per bottle...and that's not exactly in my "everyday" price point. It's not even in my weekend price point. It's more in the Birthday / Anniversary / Holiday price point.
Good news though is that she believes that Maison Belliac Chardonnay tastes EXACTLY like Kistler.
Now you may dismiss this as absurd...but can a $10 bottle of wine taste exactly like a $70 bottle of wine?
The answer is - maybe.
My answer to that question is usually no, but honestly this wine is really really close. So close that many people you pour this for will think you probably spent $50+ on the wine (we gotta keep your friends and family knowing you are serving them the best!)
One thing everyone seems to agree on though is that this wine, on sale for $9.99, is on a whole other level of value. The sales numbers tell us this week in and week out. It hasn't missed a beat in 3 years and has never had a down year!
Just for fun I am going to pour a glass for my wife this evening and tell her it's Kistler 😁
Let's see how that goes!
Happy Wednesday All!

Maybe one of my favorite wine finds in the last several years has been L'Enfant Rebelle Sauvignon Blanc.
Over the last two years, many of you have come to learn what we found out in winter of 2022 - Antoine Lafarge is putting out some of the highest quality / affordable white wine in the Loire Valley (dare I say maybe on planet earth?).
While his portfolio contains an embarrassment of riches, his entry level offering "L'Enfant Rebelle" may be the star of the show.
Why, do you ask?
Well, the European AOC system delineates the boundaries of any winegrowing region; the idea is that the best and appropriate area is reserved for the AOCs. That means that there are other places that can make high quality wine but simply don’t fit within the AOC boundaries. That includes this site just outside of the established Loire Valley vineyards where delicious Sauvignon Blanc can be made, similarly to Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé, but not at similar prices to those better-known wines.
That's what we have here, and good golly is it something else. Oh, did we mention it is the lowest price in the United States as well? Heck, you could pay almost 17 pounds in the UK for this (thats basically $22.97 US - click HERE for the offering), or you could just grab it at your neighborhood winestore. for $9.99 😁
But don't take our word for it.
I got this text exchange from a friend the first week this wine landed (which also included the photo we used in this newsletter!). The "he" referenced below is our Store VP in Charlotte:

So ignore at your peril! At $9.99 it is outrageous.

SALE ITEMS THIS WEEK:
Not sure I could love this wine more at $9.99
$9.99 rosé just in time for Easter and Spring Break!
Only 61 cases of this Sancerre remain...
It's pretty much confirmed for me at this point. I think $7.99 wine is my new thing.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not looking to sacrifice on quality one bit. But when the quality is firing and the price hits that magic price point...it becomes electric!
So what is the deal with this one?
Last week we introduced you to Malluso Pinot Grigio at $7.99 - and made the point that it costs the same as a coffee at Starbucks.
Now meet the red.
Malluso Rosso is the same price, from the same producer, and built for the same purpose: everyday drinking without overthinking it.
This is a straightforward Italian red - soft, fruity, easy on the tannins, and completely at home next to a bowl of pasta or a Tuesday night pizza. It's not trying to be complex. It's not demanding your attention. It's just good, honest wine at a price that makes zero sense.
The producer, as we told you, is Progetti Agricoli, part of the Veraison Group founded by Edoardo Freddi - a 34-year-old Italian entrepreneur who's built a wine empire moving over 16 million bottles a year across 60 international markets. They're based in Castiglione delle Stiviere, a small town in Lombardy near Lake Garda - the same town where Henri Dunant founded the International Red Cross in 1859 after witnessing the carnage of the Battle of Solferino.
That's a bit of history you didn't expect from a $7.99 bottle of red.
It's gonna be an EPIC Saturday today. You in?

100% Cabernet Sauvignon on SALE for $9.99
I am the #1 believer in that you don't need to pay a lot of money to drink fabulous wine - but when we find something outstanding at just $7.99 per bottle I get really fired up.
I mean - I think Starbucks is charging $7.99 for some cups of coffee these days. I'd rather pay that for a nice bottle of vino 😂
Today's blockbuster? Malluso Pinot Grigio.
This new arrival comes from Progetti Agricoli, part of the Veraison Group - one of the fastest-growing wine companies in Italy right now. Veraison was founded in 2022 by Edoardo Freddi, who at 34 years old has assembled a portfolio of Italian wineries that now moves over 16 million bottles a year across 60 international markets. One of those wineries is Salvaterra in Valpolicella - among the largest Amarone producers in Italy, shipping 500,000+ bottles annually. These are serious people.
Progetti Agricoli itself is based in Castiglione delle Stiviere, a historic town in Lombardy near Lake Garda - the same town where Henri Dunant founded the International Red Cross in 1859 after witnessing the bloody aftermath of the Battle of Solferino. It's a region steeped in history, and it sits right in the heart of northern Italy's winemaking corridor.
The wine itself is a Pinot Grigio delle Venezie DOC - which is the official designation for Pinot Grigio from northeastern Italy's Triveneto region (Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and Trentino). This is where 85% of Italian Pinot Grigio comes from - and 43% of the world's production. The DOC was established in 2017 specifically to protect and elevate the quality of Pinot Grigio from this region. When you see that "delle Venezie DOC" on the label, it means the wine has been certified and traced from grape to bottle.
The Triveneto is shaped like a natural amphitheater, with the Alps protecting the vineyards from cold northern winds. The climate is cool enough for Pinot Grigio to develop bright acidity and delicate aromatics, but warm enough for the fruit to ripen fully. It's textbook Pinot Grigio country.
At $7.99, this is crisp, clean, food-friendly Italian white wine from a certified DOC region, backed by a company that's selling 16 million bottles a year because they figured out how to deliver quality at scale.
Summer is coming. Stock accordingly.
I know what I'm drinking tonight!!

Blind Taste 2024 Belle Glos "Clark & Telephone"
Saturday March 21st, 2026
9am - 8pm
All Day Long!

For just the 2nd time since March of 2023, the Belle Glos Clark & Telephone blind tasting has returned due to overwhelming demand (who doesn't love blind tastings?!?!?)
As a Pinot Noir lover...this may be my favorite blind tasting. I don't do enough blind tasting and it really is a fun way to just decide what my taste buds love most - no matter the cost (but let's be honest I want it to be lower than higher!!!).
If you don't know the price, can't see the label, and can't hear someone barking in your ear about the wine's "score" or prestige, then all that is left is the juice and your taste buds. It's a scary proposition for any winemaker. That's why you have marketing departments that design catchy labels, create campaigns to build a wine's image, and spend all of their time and energy essentially trying to convince consumers that a wine is great. The problem is that you can't out "market" a blind tasting.
Which is why we're playing "Find the Belle Glos" this Saturday. It's simple really. Eight wines will be tasted blind on the tasting machine. One of them will be 2024 Belle Glos "Clark & Telephone" Pinot Noir and the others will be an assortment of Pinot etc. at every price point from a number of different regions. All you have to do is load up your card with $8.00, taste all eight wines (you don't have to taste all 8 if you don't want to, but it's more fun if you do!), and pick your favorite. Yes, that's right, your favorite. If that's the Belle Glos, then great, if not, well that's OK too. You may be surprised as to what your favorites actually are.
Get ready to taste some amazing Pinot Noir! We will announce the winners next Tuesday!

The best value wine of all time?
The rosé gods did not appreciate us not putting a rosé on sale last week as we cruise into spring, and I feel like they responded with cold weather.
So we are BACK, with one of our more epic rosé offerings to get us back to warm weather this weekend!
So here is the question...
How does a rosé become the #3 best selling rosé of all time in the store and we've only mentioned in a newsletter 2 times?
By delivering the goods, in a BIG way.
Rosabelle is affordable, delicious, and nutritious (well, maybe not nutritious but I think that used to be an advertising slogan back in the day 😂).
I'm glad wines like Rosabelle exist. I need more delicious $10 wine in my life! I'm tired of people trying to convince me that the $8 PB&J on the kids menu at the restaurant makes any financial sense. Or the $13 side of mac and cheese. Make the madness stop please!
Anyhoo - back to a $9.99 bottle of stunning rosé...
For rosé it doesn't matter as much what grapes you use, just the process. Though they need to be picked early and when they’re still tangy and tart. For Rosabelle that means Grenache and Cinsault. These days a paler style of rosé prevails, set by Provençal producers and Rosabelle is cut from that cloth.
Added bonus here? According to Vivino the average price paid for Rosabelle out there is $18.33 - and you're getting it for $9.99 per bottle.
SCORE!
On Sale through Sunday...but I know what I'm drinking tonight!!
Happy Wednesday All!

It's March Madness, and every spring we start with a little madness of our own.
The biggest sale we run every spring is Benières for $9.99, and the day has finally arrived.
Benières Pinot Noir and Chardonnay which you all have gobbled up to the tune of more than 20,000 cases (that is a lot of wine) in the last 48 months, is a staple in my house and now - more than ever - the type of value it is delivering is a very welcome thing for me.
We told you back in December that for the 5th year in a row Benières Pinot Noir and Chardonnay didn't win the voting here for our Wine of the Year, but maybe they should have. That we were not sure there is any brand we carry more on fire than Benieres - and that there is no brand bringing more thunder when it comes to the quality / price ratio than these wines right now.
The guy who wrote the review above about the Benières Pinot Noir clearly agrees 😂 My guess is he is buying a case at this price.
As always, thank you for your support. We work hard every single day to bring you the best possible customer service, the greatest quality wines, and the guaranteed lowest prices...and it is because of you that we are able to make that happen.
You guys know the drill!
Let's do this! Happy Tuesday!

TGIF! Am I right?
As I have mentioned winter is over for me so I am refusing to wear a jacket outdoors while we go through this cold snap or whatever it is...
Anyhoo...back to the wine of the day.
In 1988, a group of frustrated California winemakers had a problem. They were making world-class Bordeaux-style blends - Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec - but federal regulations said if your wine didn't contain at least 75% of a single grape, you couldn't put that grape's name on the label. Your options were a proprietary name nobody recognized or "table wine" - the marketplace equivalent of a dunce cap.
So they held a contest. Over 6,000 entries from around the world. A guy named Neil Edgar from Newark, California won with a word he invented: Meritage. A portmanteau of "merit" and "heritage." It rhymes with heritage - not the French way. The rules were simple: at least two Bordeaux grapes, no single variety over 90%, and it had to be the winery's best blend.
The very first winery to ever put that word on a label? Dry Creek Vineyard.
David Stare studied civil engineering at MIT. Got his MBA at Northwestern. His dream job was to become president of a major railroad. He worked for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad for years. Then in 1967 he took a job with a German steel company and moved his young family to the Rhine Valley. On weekends, he started visiting wineries.
That was the end of the railroad dream.
In 1970, Stare spent two weeks driving through Burgundy, Bordeaux, and the Loire Valley. He fell in love - specifically with the crisp, mineral Sauvignon Blancs of the Loire and the structured, elegant blends of Bordeaux. When he got home to Boston, he read an article in the Wall Street Journal about the future of California wine. He packed his wife and kids into a mint green station wagon and headed west.
In 1972, he bought a 55-acre prune orchard across from the Dry Creek General Store in Sonoma County. The agricultural advisors told him not to plant Sauvignon Blanc there - they said it was "inappropriate" for the region. He planted it anyway. It became the first Sauvignon Blanc in Dry Creek Valley history. His Fumé Blanc became the first in Sonoma County. In 1982, his winery was the first in California to put sailboats on wine labels - a bold move when everyone else was doing faux-French chateau designs. In 1983, he petitioned for and won AVA status for Dry Creek Valley, then became the first to use that appellation on a label. In 1985, he became the first to use "Meritage" on a label and the first to coin "Old Vines" for Zinfandel.
Sensing a pattern here?
The guy from Boston who wanted to run a railroad became Wine Enthusiast's "American Wine Legend" and one of the most decorated pioneers in California wine history. He founded the first new winery in Dry Creek Valley since Prohibition. His daughter Kim runs it now - second generation, still family-owned, 185 acres of sustainably farmed vineyards, 100% Certified Sustainable, Top 100 Winery from Wine & Spirits Magazine.
And they've never forgotten the sailing. Dave grew up sailing in Massachusetts. The sailboat labels weren't a gimmick - they were an extension of who the family is. In 1977, Dave sponsored the first sailing team at Sonoma State. In 2000, they launched their America's Cup Reserve series. They became the Official Wine of the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series. They partnered with US SAILING for nearly a decade, donating a portion of proceeds from their Regatta wines back to sailing education programs.
This Regatta Meritage is the best sub $25 representation of one of the most historically significant Bordeaux-style blending programs in American wine that we have ever found.
So let's drink some awesome wine tonight, shall we?

There's a 100-million-year-old rock formation running through the Loire Valley that produces some of the most distinctive white wine on earth. The rock is called silex - ancient flint, left behind when prehistoric seas receded and the Cretaceous limestone eroded away. When you strike two pieces of silex together, you get a sharp, metallic smell. That smell is called pierre à fusil in French. Gunflint. It's also the smell you get in the glass when you pour a great Pouilly-Fumé.
That's where the name comes from. Fumé means smoky. The old-timers called Sauvignon Blanc grown here "Blanc Fumé" - smoky white - because of that haunting mineral note that great silex soils give to the wine. The best bottles smell like you just fired a flintlock pistol, then handed someone a glass of cold citrus and white flowers. It's one of the most singular aromatics in wine.
The problem? Pouilly-Fumé and its neighbor Sancerre have become increasingly difficult to find - and when you do find them, the prices have become increasingly difficult to justify.
Enter Antoine de la Farge.
His family has been making wine in this part of France since 1560. That's not a typo. Four and a half centuries. Sixteen generations. His grandfather, Gérard Clément, was one of the founders of the Menetou-Salon appellation back in 1959 and remains one of the most respected figures in the region. After spending eight years working in the wine trade - including a stint as a buyer for one of the largest wine merchants in France - Antoine came home in 2012 to take over the family vineyards and do things his own way.
His philosophy is simple: the winemaker is the "cement between the grape variety and the final wine." He's not trying to manipulate anything. No commercial yeasts. No pumping - everything moves by gravity. Hand-harvested. Organically farmed. He describes his job as a conductor transforming soil into music.
And the soil here is spectacular. Antoine's Pouilly-Fumé comes from vineyards that are 65% silex with the rest being caillottes - white chalk. This is the exact combination that produces the most electric, mineral-driven Sauvignon Blanc in the world.
Here's the part where you need to pay attention:
- Same grape as Sancerre? Correct.
- Same terroir as Sancerre? Indeed - both appellations sit on opposite banks of the Loire, sharing the same mix of Kimmeridgian limestone and silex soils.
- Same taste profile? Without a doubt
- Same price as Sancerre? Absolutely not. 😉
The most famous producer in Pouilly-Fumé history was a wild man named Didier Dagueneau - former professional motorcycle sidecar racer, long hair, dramatic beard, zero patience for mediocrity. In the 1980s, when the region was associated with overcropping and thin, weedy wines, he arrived and started publicly criticizing his neighbors. He tilled with horses. He dropped yields to 75% of what everyone else was harvesting. He made single-parcel wines when nobody else was doing that. His "Silex" bottling - named for the soil - became one of the most sought-after white wines in France, routinely selling for $150-$200+ per bottle. He died tragically in an ultralight plane crash in 2008, but his legend transformed how the world views Pouilly-Fumé.
Antoine de la Farge is cut from the same cloth - meticulous, uncompromising, obsessed with terroir - but without the Dagueneau price tag.
Same flinty silex soils. Same ancient winemaking lineage. Same electric, mineral-driven Sauvignon Blanc that Dagueneau made famous. A family that has been doing this since the year Shakespeare was born.
Quantities are scarce. They always are with producers this good at prices this low. If Sancerre is your thing, or Sauvignon Blanc is your thing, or you just want to understand what all the fuss is about with these ancient French soils that somehow translate into something you can smell in a glass - this is the one.
I know what I'm drinking tonight!

In the wine business, the difference between a $10 bottle and a $40 bottle often comes down to one thing: who you know.
The people behind Waccamaw Proprietary Red spent years working alongside legends like Eric Solomon and Martine Saunier. If you don't know those names, here's the short version: Eric Solomon founded European Cellars right here in Charlotte, was named Robert Parker's Wine Personality of the Year, and built his career finding world-class producers before anyone else caught on - places like Domaine de la Janasse, Marcoux, and Clos Erasmus. The guy started as a rock drummer in London and ended up becoming one of the most respected importers in America. Martine Saunier was the first woman to import Burgundy into the US. She introduced American wine drinkers to Henri Jayer - now one of the most expensive and sought-after producers on the planet - and Domaine Leroy, and Château Rayas. She drove around France in a VW Bug in 1969 knocking on cellar doors when nobody else was paying attention.
When you spend years working with people like that, you learn where the good stuff is. You build relationships. You get phone calls that other people don't get.
Waccamaw is a Cabernet blend that punches way above its weight. Black cherry at the center, layered fruit, enough structure to be interesting but soft enough tannins that you can open it tonight without planning ahead. It drinks like something twice the price - which is exactly what happens when people with real connections source fruit that most producers never get a shot at.
At $12.99, this is the bottle you open on a Tuesday. It's the bottle you put out when guests show up early and you don't want to burn through the wines you bought FOR dinner BEFORE dinner 😂. It's the bottle you buy a case of and don't overthink.
You know how these things go.
I know what I'm drinking tonight! Let's do this!😍 $7.99 on our #1 White - the show goes on!! 🎇

A little more $9.99 rosé as we continue to ease into Spring...
We've been talking quite a bit about how much I love a good $9.99 bottle of wine. But what happens when you can get an EPIC bottle of wine for only $7.99?
We're talking across the pond. All the way from France, to your doorstep for $7.99...and it's as delicious as anything out there?!?!
People call it the blue top wine, BBT, the wine with the fish label. People call it lots of things because people are constantly asking for it and it is basically walking itself out the door 😂
It's our #1 white wine for a reason.
What's up with the wine?
We found the Vivarés brothers from Cotes de Thau – you’ve probably not heard of it but it’s the hilly coastal part of Languedoc in Mediterranean France. They live in Pézenas, which you should visit someday because it’s the charming birthplace of France’s greatest playwright, Molière. Robert Vivarés has a B&B with a fine restaurant and Paul travels the world for his business tasting a lot of wines. They needed a house wine that reflected the place where they grew up. So they blended Picpoul and Terret Blanc from the hills around them and called it Bleu Blanc and its straight up silly value.
Happy Thursday all! I think it's the weekend, right?

It's going to be nearly 80 degrees across parts of Georgia and North Carolina this weekend, and that means we are continuing our e-mail series called "I don't care what anyone says, winter is over and I am living in Spring..." 😂
...and my rosé of choice this weekend will be Balcon sur la Mer.
Let's set aside for the moment that I love the package, and it kinda transports me to some place I'd like to go for vacation but I'm not quite sure I can afford 😂
Balcon has all the things we love about dry rosé. It delivers everything you want in spades. This unctuous pink wine is dry, stony, fruity, lengthy. Comprised of Grenache, Grenache Gris and Mourvedre, there’s a lot more here than many a rosé that you’ve tasted before.
Oh, and it's $9.99. I have to be honest - the more and more I see rosé prices (or honestly the prices of anything) out there in the marketplace, it makes me happy to think some producers still want to churn out ultra high quality, affordable hits. I mean, I paid $14.99 for a pound of Boar's Head ham this week at the grocery store...what is the world coming to?
So let's drink the hits this week, and celebrate all things delicious and sub $10, am I right?!?!?!

Grand Cru Saint-Emilion for $17.99...this is not a drill
Not sure I've ever seen drinks move this fast before...
Seigneur du Feu is definitely back.
It made its huge splash by winning the 2025 Silver Oak Blind Tasting at only $9.99 per bottle (it almost won the Caymus Blind Tasting), and sales in 2025 were up over 300%!!
The last 3 times this wine has come back in stock you all have purchased - over the course of 7 days - 809 six packs, 943 six packs, 1176 six packs.
So far this week - just since Wednesday? 978 six packs. The record is going to be broken AGAIN!
Now you get why this wine has been near impossible to keep in stock. 😂
I think people are yearning for a wine (or any product for that matter) that actually can deliver high quality at low prices. It's what we're always shooting for here at winestore., and Seigneur du Feu is leading the charge.
What have we told you about this wine?
Just based on back orders for people waiting for this to come back in stock, it may be a record. One of our team members even e-mailed the whole company last night and said:![]()
What sent this wine into overdrive?
Our blind tastings always seem to produce some upsets, but honestly this one may take the cake.
Highland Falls, one of our best selling wines of all time, won the Caymus Blind Tasting last fall.
A surprise? Sure. But the wine is a known entity. It sells like hotcakes. I could see it winning in the right conditions.
The Silver Oak Blind Tasting?
In this particular case we had a wine that was the last wine we added to the lineup, a virtual unknown, and a wine we have featured in our newsletter just ONE TIME in our 19 year history, that took home the crown.
I'm sorry, what?
I was so worried that nobody would believe us, that we just decided to include the voting results. You can view them here.
581 of you came in January to test your blind tasting chops across 8 wines - and 25% of you voted Seigneur de Feu in first place. Besting Silver Oak by 14 votes.
These two wines, a $10 wine and an $80 wine, took home 47% of ALL the first place votes.
Just wild...
What is even more insane, is that in the one e-mail we have sent about this wine (and I just read this and it kinda gave me chills), I told you - as kind of a joke - that Seigneur du Feu was basically like Silver Oak but only for $10 because of the use of American Oak in the wine. 👀
Here is what we told you:
"Throughout the last two centuries of winedom, French wine has been aged in French oak. Or has it? In the 19th century, French forests, planted for warships, were plentiful enough for barrels too. In the early 20th century, barrels made from Eastern European oak became more common, especially after WWI decimated French forests. But they were replanted with purpose; the barrel industry returned and has dominated the idea of top flight wine ever since. Yet, American oak is crucial to many other wine regions: Spain, Australia, the U.S., maybe even Silver Oak (they love that vanilla smell). So this is a southern French Cab with American oak’s lashing of coconut and sawdust – the classic aromas of American oak barrels.
Maybe think Silver Oak from France, but only costs $9.99? There may be some hyperbole in there, but you get the idea! 😂"
Have we just uncovered the next big thing?
I have no idea.
But this is so damn exciting I barely know what to say.
Welcome back (again) Seigneur du Feu!!!
Saturday Funday? That's a thing, right?

When beverage wizard, and Highland Falls President, Francesca Kimbell told us that Highland Falls was coming out with two new flavors...we were a little more than excited.
In just a few short months these drinks have gone from "What are these?" to this type of frenzy...
Highland Falls’ Delta‑9 THC beverages have converted even our most skeptical tasters. I was suspect of this market for a long time, but after trying this lineup, we've gone all in.
Their latest flavors - honestly game changers for me.
The Golden Glow is the best tasting drink in this category that I have had! (full disclosure I had one last night and slept maybe the best I have slept in months 😂)
So to celebrate their arrival, we're putting all six of their flavors on sale for $17.99 per 4-pack through Sunday.
All six are gluten‑free, alcohol‑free, and vegan - and low calorie to boot! The Highland Harmony is only 35 calories per can!
I knew we needed to stock them full time when after we brought them in on a trial run my 73 year old mother in law and mother both ordered mixed cases 👀

Does it taste like Caymus for only $16.99?
I am desperately hoping this ice stays away, but according to my wife the panic meter needs to stay in effect for the winter storm!
Good news is I work at a winestore and they may have all the provisions I need!
As for todays option? How about maybe the hottest under $10 Chardonnay in the US - on SALE for $7.99.
I paid $4.99 for a pouch of ice cream the other day, so it is almost tough for me to explain how silly this price actually is for the quality you are getting.
The winery reported to us that sales were up 72% in the US market in 2025 - which by all accounts is absolutely bonkers.
That said, I get the hype.
In France, the grape is sometimes secondary; it’s the place that counts, at least when it comes to the labels. So it took years before the French would even let someone drop the name of the grape on the label; well, except for in Alsace, but that's a whole other story. The French label police have loosened up a bit and, particularly with wines from the vast Languedoc-Roussillon region in the south, they’re okay with Chardonnay, as with this bottle, being on the label.
Vast as the region is, it matters if you’re close to the coast, or up in the mountains, and with a grape like Chardonnay, cooler, higher elevation sites are best and that is exactly where this comes from. About a third of the wine is barrel-fermented; the rest is in stainless steel, with just enough lees-stirring to fatten up the wine and round it out.
It's everything I love about the wine business - while there are plenty of producers out there trying to squeeze every last cent they can out of their customers, there are then wineries like Belleplane. Where the goal is to create the absolute most luxurious product possible for the least amount possible. These are my kind of people!
We'll have this gem on the tasting machine at all 9 stores for just $0.01 through Sunday, in case you want to see for yourself what all the hype is about.
Anyone fancy a glass of Chardonnay by the fire this weekend?
