Julien Fayard may be the hottest winemaker in California right now. After cutting his teeth at Lafite Rothschild and Smith Haut Lafitte, he moved to the US where he became director of winemaker for Philippe Melka before heading out on his own (solid resumé). He now maybe the most sought after winemaker in the valley - currently heading up projects like Mithra, Krupp Brothers, Sire, Purlieu and Casper Estate. You can see his whole portfolio HERE.
