Extreme weather of late has been particularly disruptive to the great Sauvignon Blanc wines of the Loire Valley. Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, once ubiquitous on shelves and wine lists, are getting hard to find today.....and if you do happen to find them, they are much harder to afford.

That is why when we stumble upon a producer like Antoine Lafarge and his incredible stable of affordable yet high quality wines, we almost can't contain ourselves.

One of the best examples of his talent? His 2022 Pouilly-Fumé Sauvignon Blanc.

Like all of Antoine’s wines, this is organically farmed and skillfully crafted. The region now offers powerful and fruity Sauvignon Blanc, not at all like those of New Zealand. People lament that climate change has altered wines, but Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé are often fruitier and more fun to drink as the weather heats up. And just like Sancerre, the soils in Pouilly Fumé are a mix of Kimmeridgian limestone and the even more famed soil, silex. Silex deserves its fame; it provides tension and complexity to the aromatic Sauvignon Blanc grape.

All of this goodness in one bottle and then shipped across the pond, and we can bring it to you at the lowest price ever offered in the United States - $19.99 per bottle.
