Much like the Sombrero Cabernet from earlier this week, Vellas Sauvignon Blanc took off last year like a rocket ship.

Domaine Vellas has fun with its labels but don’t think less of their wines for that.  They know their business, with sixty vineyards totaling 250 acres under their control, the character and value is known by one and all.
 
Les Naturels Sauvignon Blanc is blended from vineyards in the southern part of the vast and crucial Languedoc-Roussillon region and, if the Languedoc-Roussillon is somehow overlooked due to its ubiquity, it’s important to understand that some of France’s oldest vines are planted along its limestone slopes, many on vertiginous hillsides or nearly overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. This 100% organic wine is not some leftover souvenir from a producer’s vain attempt to create some over priced Sancerre clone. This is made to be seductive, slippery southern French Sauvignon Blanc.
