This will be one of the best sub $15 red wines you will try this year. Honestly, it's one of the best values we have ever added to our lineup.

What's up?

The family estate Domaine Lérys was founded in 1861 in Villeneuve les Corbières, with vineyards planted on steep schist soils, not such a different landscape from what you find in Spain’s Priorat. In that rough and difficult Spanish place, plants struggle for survival, but Fitou is a bit gentler a place.

The rocks naturally limit excessive competition for the vines, and yields are naturally limited, but it’s not as dry and demanding an environment as Priorat, and the Rhone grapes like Carignan, Grenache and Syrah grown in Fitou are more generous than they are burly. The Lerys Tradition bottling combines 60% Carignan (tangy and almost cranberry like) with dense and deep Grenache.

We will have it on the tasting machine at all 8 stores all weekend long - just in case you need to see for yourself 😁
