In 1991, Sarah and Sparky Marquis finished their winemaking studies with $1,000 and dreams of their own business. They started as winemakers for Sarah’s parents in McLaren Vale. Then in 2006 they started their own brand, Mollydooker (Aussie slang for a “left hander’), and lovers of powerhouse wines like The Wine Advocate continue to call their wines ‘Best Value Wine in the World’. These are not subtle wines, but then isn’t that what made Australian wine famous in the first place?
