Chalk Hill Estate Chardonnay
If you’ve visited Sonoma County, you may have driven past Chalk Hill and thought, “why aren’t we going in there??” It’s a beautiful 1300-acre estate with a hospitality center, a culinary garden, and even horse stables, complete with an equestrian pavilion. More than two-thirds of the Chalk Hill Estate remains uncultivated. The higher elevations offer stunning views of the Russian River Valley to the west and the Mayacamas Mountains to the east. Sonoma winemaking legend David Ramey put the place on the vinous map, after he had done more or less the same at Simi and Matanzas Creek, and before he finally created his own namesake estate. Knows his stuff. This sees a native yeast fermentation in barrel, with completed malolactic fermentation for all the richness you seek.
