Arterberry Maresh Dundee Hills PN
With vineyards like Anderson Family, Dux, Weber and Maresh to work with Jim Maresh starts with pure, vibrant Dundee Hills fruit – typically intense in red fruits character with spice and herbs to boot. Since 1969, Jim Maresh has been growing grapes for wine from his family’s estate – he’s the third generation of farmers there in a sacred spot for Oregon Pinot Noir. His namesake vineyard, Maresh, is the 5th oldest in the state and the oldest in this part of the Willamette Valley. Though he is a farmer through and through, being a winemaker wasn’t really on the docket. But he and his family fell in love with a 27-acre farm covered with plum, cherry, and hazelnut trees. Eventually, grapes just seemed like the thing to do, and his neighbors, the other pioneers of Oregon wine like Dick Erath, guided him through it all. This is a brand spanking new wine, but a bottled filled with history.
